Picadillo is a versatile dish of ground beef cooked with a unique blend of ingredients.
Ingredients:
- 500 g of ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup green olives, chopped
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 2 tablespoons of capers
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation:
- Heat the oil in a large frying pan and sauté the onion, pepper and garlic until golden.
- Add the ground beef and cook until golden brown.
- Add the tomatoes, olives, raisins and capers. Cook over medium heat for 20 minutes, until the flavors blend.
- Adjust salt and pepper.
- Serve with white rice or use it as a filling for empanadas.
